Welcome to our office! We are a small group practice that is committed to offering the highest quality medical care for your children. Our office offers a warm and friendly environment where we can become partners in your goal of maintaining a happy and healthy family.
We are board certified pediatricians, trained in newborn, pediatric, and adolescent medicine. We are on staff at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey and Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. Our small size allows you to get to know all the doctors in the office, and we invite you to do so. We do not cross cover with any other physicians and we do not use a nighttime triage nurse. One of our doctors is always available 24/7 in case of emergencies.
We are currently have flu vaccine available. This year we will only be giving the injectable version of the vaccine as the nasal version was deemed to be ineffective. Please call for appointments!

She hails from Texas and has worked several years as RN in the emergency room, pediatric neurology & trauma ICU, and pediatric medical-surgery unit. She recently received her Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric Program) from Rutgers. Please give her a warm welcome!

We are now open both Saturday and Sunday on the weekends for sick emergencies.
LabCorp is currently drawing labs in our office on Friday mornings from 9 AM to 2 PM. No appointment is required and patients are seen on a first come first served basis. These phlebotomists specialize in children. This is a great asset to our office so please take advantage of it.
Recently, the advisory committees on vaccines created guidelines on administering the new meningitis B vaccine to the public. Right now all of our children receive the Menactra vaccine which protect against A, C, W-135 and Y serotypes of meningitis at 11 and 16 years of age. This new vaccine protects against the B strain which is not in Menactra. The Committee did not add this vaccine as a required vaccine but instead as an "optional" one for adolescents 16 to 23 years of age. Last year there was an outbreak at Princeton and several colleges are now starting to require the vaccine. We are now offering it as an optional vaccine (covered by your insurance) and are ordering it in small quantities. It is a 2 dose series with the second one being given 6 months after the first one. We are offering this vaccine to all 17 year olds and all young adults entering college or already in college.
Dr. Yellin, Dr. Greaney and Dr. Lewis were all selected by the readers of New Jersey Family Magazine as one of their Favorite Kids' Docs again for 2016! We thank all of you that voted for us and we are humbled by this honor!
One of our nurses, Diana Pree, is certified as an Advanced Nurse Lactation Consultant. She is available to help with any and all lactation concerns in our office. We also offer breastfeeding moms, the opportunity to schedule a one hour consult with her to discuss your lactation concerns one on one. We hope this will be an asset to all of our patients!
These travel consultations are not covered by insurance and will cost $100. We will research the country that you are traveling to and determine if the following are needed:
- additional vaccines
- malaria prophylaxis
- treatment for traveler’s diarrhea
If the typhoid vaccine is needed this will be an additional $100 that is also not covered by insurance. At the time you schedule your appointment, please make sure that you make us aware of the country you are traveling to and provide us with documentation of any vaccines previously received at a travel clinic.
We are now offering the version of Gardasil that protects agains 9 types of HPV. We recommend this vaccine for all children ages 12 and up. The vaccine provides protection against the 4 subtypes of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) with the largest disease burden. HPV can cause cervical cancer, genital warts, oral cancer, anal cancer, and penile cancer. It is a 2 dose series given 6 months apart if the vaccine is started under the age of 15. If the vaccine is started at 15 or beyond, it is a 3 dose series with the 2nd dose given 2 months after the first one and the 3rd dose given 6 months after the first one. We can start this series at your child's physical or you can schedule a nurse's time to begin the series!
We are now offering the Adacel booster (Tdap – Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) to all parents and grandparents under the age of 65 in our office. The cost will be $65 and will not be covered by insurance. This vaccine is especially important to protect our babies from getting pertussis (whooping cough)!
The schedule will open on November 29th through February 24th.
We now have electronic medical records which have a patient portal attached to them. With this patient portal you can access your child's medical records and growth charts, e-mail the physician or nurse, and schedule appointments at any hour of the day. We will also have flu shot appointments available to book online in the fall. There are lots of great benefits to the system.
We can now e-prescribe all of your prescriptions to your pharmacy including mail order pharmacies. No more waiting in line with your screaming child to pick up your prescription!
We now have a new device called Cryosolutions which contains nitrous oxide that can be used to treat skin tags and warts. Please call us to make appointments for these conditions.
Search for Maple Avenue Pediatrics and “like” us. We will use this site to convey important information about pediatrics in the news as well as office happenings! We will not answer medical questions or take appointments via this page!
There is a $5 charge for any mailed, faxed, or dropped off forms to be completed. There is a $20 charge for any mailed, faxed or dropped off forms that must be completed within 48 hours. The NJSIAA has issued a new Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Exam Form that is required for participation in any Junior High and High School sports programs. If your child is age 10 and older, is scheduled for a physical exam, and is going to participate in any sports in the upcoming year, you must click on the link above, print out the form, and fill out your sections of the form PRIOR to coming to the office. These forms are quite thorough and need to be reviewed by the doctor. Also, please speak to your school administrators about whether a vision screen is required for sports clearance. There will be a $10 charge for each of these forms. If you do not request a sports form at the time of your child’s physical, there will be a $20 fee to have one done at a later time.
