Welcome to our office! We are a small group practice that is committed to offering the highest quality medical care for your children. Our office offers a warm and friendly environment where we can become partners in your goal of maintaining a happy and healthy family.
We are board certified pediatricians, trained in newborn, pediatric, and adolescent medicine. We are on staff at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey and Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. Our small size allows you to get to know all the doctors in the office, and we invite you to do so. We do not cross cover with any other physicians and we do not use a nighttime triage nurse. One of our doctors is always available 24/7 in case of emergencies.
These travel consultations are not covered by insurance and will cost $100. We will research the country that you are traveling to and determine if the following are needed:
- additional vaccines
- malaria prophylaxis
- treatment for traveler’s diarrhea
There is currently a shortage of the injectable form of the typhoid vaccine, thus we are giving patients prescriptions for the oral version of the typhoid vaccine. The good news is that the oral version lasts 5 years whereas the injectable version only lasts 2 years. At the time you schedule your appointment, please make sure that you make us aware of the country you are traveling to and provide us with documentation of any vaccines previously received at a travel clinic.
We are now confirming ALL appointments via e-mail if we have your address. The e-mail confirmation takes the place of the phone confirmation. Please make sure that you check your e-mail account frequently. Until we have your e-mail address, we will still confirm via a phone call.
We are able to send most of your prescriptions to the pharmacy electronially! No more waiting in line to have your prescription processed! Your prescriptions should be ready when you arrive at the pharmacy.
We are using electronic medical records! Our electronic medical records contain a patient portal where you are able to access your child's immunizations, lab results, e-mail the physicians and schedule some appointments! Once you have joined the portal, please click on the account tab at the top of the page and you can update your child's contact information, credit card information, and insurance information. This will be helpful to our office.
We have added event more appointments for flu vaccine and flu mist. We now have Saturday and evening appointments as well as more after school appointments! You can book your flu appointments on-line if you have access to the patient portal by picking Nurse Scheduler as your provider. This year all of our supply is preservative free. We are using the quadrivalent flu vaccine which contains protection against two types of Influenza A and two types of Influenza B. It has come to our attention that the urgent cares are giving trivalent flu vaccine which contains protection against two types of Influenza A and one type of Influenza B. We believe that the quadrivalent vaccine will provide additional protection this flu season.
We currently have Pentacel back in stock!
We always get questions about Gardasil and here is some information. The vaccine provides protection against the 4 subtypes of Human Papillomavirus with the largest disease burden. It is a 3 dose series in which the second dose is given 2 months after the first dose and the third dose is given six months after the first one. We are offering this vaccine to both boys and girls over the age of 12.
We are now offering the Adacel booster (Tdap – Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) to all parents and grandparents under the age of 65 in our office. The cost will be $65 and will not be covered by insurance. This vaccine is especially important to protect our babies from getting pertussis (whooping cough)!
The schedule is currently open through February 2nd!
We now have a new device called Cryosolutions which contains nitrous oxide that can be used to treat skin tags and warts. Please call us to make appointments for these conditions.
Search for Maple Avenue Pediatrics and “like” us. We will use this site to convey important information about pediatrics in the news as well as office happenings! We will not answer medical questions or take appointments via this page!

The NJSIAA has issued a new Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Exam Form that is required for participation in any Junior High and High School sports programs. If your child is age 10 and older, is scheduled for a physical exam, and is going to participate in any sports in the upcoming year, you must click on the link above, print out the form, and fill out your sections of the form PRIOR to coming to the office. These forms are quite thorough and need to be reviewed by the doctor. Also, please speak to your school administrators about whether a vision screen is required for sports clearance. There will be a $10 charge for each of these forms. If you do not request a sports form at the time of your child’s physical, there will be a $20 fee to have one done at a later time.
