Welcome to our office! We are a small group practice that is committed to offering the highest quality medical care for your children. Our office offers a warm and friendly environment where we can become partners in your goal of maintaining a happy and healthy family.
We are board certified pediatricians, trained in newborn, pediatric, and adolescent medicine. We are on staff at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey and Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. Our small size allows you to get to know all the doctors in the office, and we invite you to do so. We do not cross cover with any other physicians and we do not use a nighttime triage nurse. One of our doctors is always available 24/7 in case of emergencies.
Dr. Chen received her medical degree from St. George's University. In 2017, She completed her pediatrics training at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, where she received the Otto Faust Award for excellence in teaching and patient care. She has already started seeing patients; please give her a warm welcome!
Even though we are in the midst of flu season, we have plenty of flu vaccine still available. It is not too late to get your flu vaccine. There are multiple strains of the flu circulating.
We are open both Saturday and Sunday in the morning for sick emergencies.
LabCorp is currently drawing labs in our office on Friday mornings from 9 AM to 2 PM. No appointment is required and patients are seen on a first come first served basis. These phlebotomists specialize in children. This is a great asset to our office so please take advantage of it.
One of our nurses, Diana Pree, RN, is certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She is available to help with any and all lactation concerns in our office. We also offer breastfeeding moms, the opportunity to schedule a one hour consult with her to discuss your lactation concerns one on one. We hope this will be an asset to all of our patients!
These travel consultations are not covered by insurance and will cost $100. We will research the country that you are traveling to and determine if the following are needed:
- additional vaccines
- malaria prophylaxis
- treatment for traveler’s diarrhea
If the typhoid vaccine is needed this will be an additional $100 that is also not covered by insurance. At the time you schedule your appointment, please make sure that you make us aware of the country you are traveling to and provide us with documentation of any vaccines previously received at a travel clinic.
The schedule is now open through May 18th. Please call now to book your appointments.
We now have electronic medical records which have a patient portal attached to them. With this patient portal you can access your child's medical records and growth charts, e-mail the physician or nurse, and schedule appointments at any hour of the day. We will also have flu shot appointments available to book online in the fall. There are lots of great benefits to the system.
We now have a new device called Cryosolutions which contains nitrous oxide that can be used to treat skin tags and warts. Please call us to make appointments for these conditions.
Search for Maple Avenue Pediatrics and “like” us. We will use this site to convey important information about pediatrics in the news as well as office happenings! We will not answer medical questions or take appointments via this page!

The NJSIAA has issued a new Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Exam Form that is required for participation in any Junior High and High School sports programs. If your child is age 10 and older, is scheduled for a physical exam, and is going to participate in any sports in the upcoming year, you must click on the link above, print out the form, and fill out your sections of the form PRIOR to coming to the office. These forms are quite thorough and need to be reviewed by the doctor. Also, please speak to your school administrators about whether a vision screen is required for sports clearance. There will be a $10 charge for each of these forms. If you do not request a sports form at the time of your child’s physical, there will be a $20 fee to have one done at a later time.
